Reading Practice: OUINO now includes 60 short stories written specifically for language learning. Reading is a powerful tool when learning a new language. But in order for the reading material to be effective, it also needs to be comprehensible. If you don’t understand anything at all, you won’t learn. The first few stories have very short sentences with simple words, and the complexity slowly evolves throughout the stories. The text is split into very small sections to allow you to focus on only a few words at once.

Also, all these stories are bilingual. You can use the English translation to support you whenever you don’t understand something. In the very beginning, you will need the support of English a lot. But as you understand more of the language, the need for the English translation will fade. Going back to those stories after a few weeks of learning can also be an excellent way to see how much you have improved. This reading section is the perfect way to practice reading from day one. It will help you reach levels where you are comfortable reading more complex stories and books.

Speaking (Pronunciation) Practice: Practicing your pronunciation has always been difficult when learning a language by yourself at home. We don’t always have the opportunity of speaking. You may have a very good understanding of the language, but when you try to speak, it comes out all wrong. That’s because your mouth is simply not used to making all these new foreign sounds and practice is the only way to improve this.

We have added exercises inside Ouino that lets you practice your pronunciation with hundreds of full sentences. You can choose from three different difficulty levels, and choose your sentence length. Simply move up the chain of difficulty levels as you get better in the language. Practicing with this can help improve the pronunciation of even advanced students who have been studying the language for years.

Listening Practice: When learning a new language, it can be difficult to separate the words in your mind and sentences can seem like fast blurbs of information. Ever wondered why native speakers seem to speak so fast? Well, the main reason is that your brain can’t separate individual words and can’t tell where one word ends and the other begins. It just seems like a never-ending mix of strange syllables.

This new exercise will allow you to practice listening and separating the sentences into words. A few minutes of practice with this everyday can make a huge difference in your listening ability.

Writing practice: A lot of people seem to be a bit reluctant to write and feel like it’s not something they necessarily need. Possibly because they feel like writing is a chore or don’t know what to write about, but the truth is that writing is incredibly helpful in all aspects of language learning. You don’t need to become a professional writer to become fluent in a language, but we strongly believe that writing on a regular basis will improve your learning exponentially. If you know how to write and you have a good pronunciation, speaking should be much easier. Practicing with this should bring massive improvements on your writing, listening and overall language skills. It can also be used to practice at a very high level; even native speakers could improve their spelling using this exercise.
